October 2, 1959 – April 7, 2026
Lauri Lyne Studer, born October 2, 1959, in Estherville Iowa to Norris Rierson and Janice Johnson Rierson. She passed away on April 7, 2026, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 66. Honoring Lauri’s generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through organ and tissue donation.
She received her education in Terrill and later in Emmetsburg schools when her family bought the Town and Country Supper Club.
She enjoyed living on the acreage where they grew up and always had a story to share about her brothers. She was a Daddy’s girl and had quite the sense of humor.
In 1978 she moved to LeMars, IA where she met her first husband Jim. They later divorced and she moved back to Emmetsburg where she met Gene. They married in 1984 and had 2 children, Melissa and Steven.
They raised their family in Graettinger where she cleaned houses, booked Canadian fishing trips and bartended. In recent years she enjoyed taking her dog out for runs with the Ranger and spending time with family.
Her favorite memories include winning against the kids and grandkids at cards and scrabble. Somehow, she could still win even with Ryan as her Euchre partner. She loved racing around the go carts and hosting everyone at their place for food and a fire. In her spare time, she loved to read books and put puzzles together. Some of her fondest memories were tending bar, telling jokes and getting the whole bar laughing.
Left to cherish her memories are her children Melissa and Steven, grandkids, Jeremy, Lucas, Ryan and Hannah; her brother Curt Rierson; as well as her stepchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, parents, two brothers, Kenny and Dennis.
