Northern Iowa man faces charges after bar fight

CLERMONT, IOWA – Cops raced to this remote Northern Iowa drinking establishment to break up a fight following a 911 call, and one man found himself behind bars.

On December 7, 2024, at approximately 6:25 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a fight at TJ’s Pizza in Clermont, Iowa.

When Deputies and Officers arrived on scene, it was learned that the suspect fled the restaurant before Law Enforcement arrived on scene. The suspect was later located and identified as 61-year-old Douglas John Fischer of Elgin, Iowa.

Fischer (pictured at top) was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct fighting-violent behavior and assault causing bodily injury.

Fischer was held until his initial appearance and later released.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the West Union Police Department, Postville Police Department and Clermont Ambulance.
