The Youth Task Force is warning young people of a sweep by local and area law enforcement authorities who are cracking down on underage drinking. Ironic isn’t it that this group is concerned with the perils of drinking and all the while on almost any given night, our mayor is stumbling around town drunk. Of late his source of boozing is the Park Inn Hotel but it could and has been anywhere that has what he feels will quench his thirst.
Don’t you find it strange that this campaign is under way to apprehend these young people who drink and drive, that law enforcement has their eyes open and their extrasensory perceptions on high alert for drunk drivers….and yet the mayor is immune from being stopped. How does that work? Oh I know; the chief of police works at the pleasure of the mayor. Lashbrook is between a rock and a hard place, if he stops the mayor he’s out. If you don’t believe me look what is currently taking place in City Hall as I write these words.
Pam Myre, long time city employee has been removed from whatever it was she was doing. She is under pressure to get out now. I understand she announced her intentions to retire in March but good sources have told me Trout has been given instruction to get rid of her ASAP….her aleadged crime….answering questions openly and fairly, or is simpler terms…she spoke the truth about the gasification plant proposal. and this resulted in enraging Bookmeyer and he wants her gone now…not in March. This woman made the mistake of showing concern about public health in matters relating to CES emissions. That’s all it took for this control freak to want her gone now! We have employment laws in this country that would result in serious lawsuits against the city if she were fired outright, because the last I heard it is not against the law to speak your mind. I ought to know a little about that myself. Just as Pam Myre may now be concerned about her job, the citizens who worry about clean air now have another concern to worry about, and that is the tryranical bully in City Hall named Eric Bookmeyer.
