PLYMOUTH – A Mason City man and woman riding their Harley-Davidson early this morning near Plymouth were seriously hurt when a deer came out of a ditch, causing a collision.
On July 28, 2024, at approximately 2:38 AM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to Thrush Avenue and 325th Street outside Plymouth on a report of a motorcycle versus deer accident with injuries. A 2003 Blue Harley FXDL being driven by Marlin Jensen, 62, of Mason City was traveling north on Thrush Avenue when a deer came out of the west ditch. The Harley struck the deer causing the driver to lose control of the motorcycle.
As a result of the collision, Marlin Jensen and his passenger 31-year-old Desarae Schwab of Mason City were both transported to Mercy One hospital where they were treated for serious injuries.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Mason City Fire and Plymouth Fire.
