WRIGHT COUNTY – A Northern Iowa motorcyclist and his passenger died when the driver attempted to pass a pickup and collided with the rear bumper.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on Saturday, September 2, 2023. At 2:57 PM that afternoon,a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by 52-year-old Eric Gustafson, of Thompson was following a 1995 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 49-year-oldPatricia Kriger of Woolstock, eastbound on 330th. The Harley began to pass the Ford when the pickup made a left turn onto Ida Avenue. The Harley then struck the bumper of the pickup.
As a result of the collision, Gustafson and his passenger, 48-year-old Mindy Chandler of Waukee, were killed.
The driver of the pickup, Patricia Kriger, of Woolstock, was uninjured.
