Randy L. Bartie, 52, of rural Fredericksburg, died unexpectedly, Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 20, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Tracy Hinkel officiating. Inurnment will follow at Wilson Grove Cemetery, rural Sumner. Visitation will precede services at the Church on Friday starting at 10:00 AM.
Randy Lee, son of Charles, Sr. and Jeannie (Foster) Bartie was born April 11, 1973, in West Union. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner and attended Sumner Schools. Randy worked for area farmers including Rex Nolte, Jason Woodring and most recently Kyle Wendland. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, NASCAR (his favorite driver was Jeff Gordon), camping, rides on his ranger, having a cold one with friends but his greatest joy was spending time with his family, friends, and children.
Randy is survived by his children, Angelina and Aaron Bartie; mother, Jeannie (Skip Koenig) Bartie of Sumner; sister-in-law, Patricia Bartie of Sumner; nephew, Tim Bartie of Waterloo; aunt and uncle, Jane and Merv Hildebrandt of Sumner; and cousins, Brenda (Bill) Schrage, and their children, Megan (Tyler) Haisch and family, Dylan (Bethany) Schrage and family and Shannon (Kyle) Chipera and family, Chad Foster, Wendy (Jeremy) Hoth and their children, Kylie (Jacob) Stolen and Kaylyn Hoth, and Amy (Marco) Orsini and their children, Kaleb and Bailey Stevens and Lea Orsini.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles, Sr.; brother, Charles, Jr.; uncles, Jim Foster and Allan Thompson; and cousin, David Thompson.
