Fire the county human right director that handles working peoples human rights and hire one only for the teachers union – sounds fair about like a kick in the azz.

There’s a difference between human resources and human rights: the old title for human resources was personnel dept., basically the person or dept. in a company that does the hiring and sometimes firing. A human rights dept. looks out for workers and others whose rights are allegedly being violated, like not getting a job because of gender or race, etc. Also Lionel Foster was the city human rights director, not county, but your point is valid.

I bet this is a huge pay increase with benefits from his former job at the courthouse. But why not pay him this amount? He can be in with the rest of the fat administrative cats.

That salary and benefits is un human for the little guy to stomach.

I like Lionel Foster .

Unless you have run a small business, you have NO appreciation for what a Human Resources person does for a large organization. That person has to be an expert in so many areas such as insurance and labor law, PLUS deal with all the people in the organization. There is always something new to read up on and new forms to send out for review and signatures. It is a tough job in a very small business to keep up with. Kudos to anyone who even wants that job.

is there any wonder how the public sector has ZERO idea what the private sector is being paid, and what they have to pay to get the benefits that these people are gifted from the taxpayer. WOW

Do tell us oh wise one. Explain to us please.

I can give you a prime one, I hear all the public employees crying about the cost of their healthcare, some pay as much as 50.00 a month. Really?
By one on the open market like the private sector, try 800.00 to 900.00 each for a bare bones policy. No dental, no eyes
They have NO clue what their gifted benefits are costing the private sector.
Another would be vacation. This guy starts a 5 weeks (who else gets that)
sick days, bareivment days
Taxpayer funded retirement
Do I need to give you more

He’ll be helping to fund that retirement. It’s not all public funding.

I understand this is about a $4,000 raise for Tom. He’s a good choice for the job. He’s a stand up decent guy. I wish him well.

I work in the public sector. I pay almost $1,000.00 a month for employee plus one health insurance. Stop posting false assumptions.
