Alcohol may be factor in Sunday evening crash that sent woman’s car airborne

RURAL MASON CITY – A Rockford woman turned her car into a an airplane briefly Sunday night in a crash that may have involved alcohol.

On March 18th, 2017 at about 9:21 PM, Cerro Gordo county deputies responded to a car accident with injuries in the 16000 block of 210th Street south of Mason City. A 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis was eastbound being driven by Angela Kaspar, age 27 of Rockford, when it entered the ditch. Shortly after the vehicle entered the ditch the vehicle then became airborne after hitting a field drive. Kaspar and her Lincoln landed a short distance away in the same ditch.

As a result of the crash, Kaspar suffered non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to Mercy Medical Center North Iowa by Mason City Fire Medics.

The Grand Marquis suffered extensive damage.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and charges are pending, the sheriff’s office says.

I can attest to the fact that in my younger days Alcohol was mighty UPLIFTING ! Now I just put in in my gas tank – now my car is government sponsored and running funny.
