HOPKINTON, IOWA – On Friday, October 21, 2016, two armed male subjects wearing masks and dark colored clothing entered Citizens State Bank at 103 1st St SW, in Hopkinton, Iowa and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money. The subjects subsequently fled the area.
Through the investigation, the cooperation of local, state, and federal agencies, the assistance from the public, including information provided by witnesses to the robbery and by allowing law enforcement access to video surveillance camera footage in the area, law enforcement was able to identify Daniel Jackson, 27, and Jason Centeno, 20, both of Yonkers, NY, as suspects in the robbery.
On Friday, October 28, 2016, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office issued arrest warrants, charging Jackson and Centeno with 1st degree robbery.
On Saturday, October 29, 2016, officers with the Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue located Jackson and Centeno in Daytona Beach, FL. Jackson and Centeno were taken into custody on the arrest warrants without incident. Jackson and Centeno are currently at the Volusia County Jail awaiting extradition back to Iowa.
This investigation included the cooperation of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Department of Public Safety’s: (DPS) Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Iowa State Patrol (ISP), and Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center (DOI). The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Manchester Police Department, Muscatine Police Department, Iowa City Police Department, West Liberty Police Department, Volusia County (FL) Beach Safety Ocean Rescue, Volusia County (FL) Sheriff’s Office, Orange County (FL) Sheriff’s Office, and the Delaware County Attorney’s Office also assisted in this investigation.
