CHARLES CITY – A lane change violation led to the traffic stop and drunk driving arrest of a Charles City woman.
According to Charles City police, on April 10 at about 10 PM, a police officer conducted a traffic stoat the corner of Waller Street and South Jackson Avenue after noticing the driver improperly changed lanes. During the traffic stop and investigation, the officer determined that the driver, 47-year-old Kelly Zepeda, was intoxicated and driving with an open container of alcohol. She was arrested on a charge of first offense operating while intoxicated, open container, and a lane change violation.
Zepeda is due in court on April 17, 2015.
