MINNEAPOLIS – A traffic stop in Minneapolis Thursday night led to a foot chase and the discovery of a loaded weapon and a bulletproof vest.

The Minneapolis police department reported today that on Thursday night, February 5th, just before 10:00 pm, a Minneapolis Police Officer attempted to stop a vehicle who’s driver was acting suspiciously in the area of 37th and East River Road. When the officer actived his emergency lighting, the suspect vehicle fled. Officers pursued the vehicle. In the area of Spring Street and Silver Lake Road (just into New Brighton), the suspect pulled over and fled on foot. Officers checked the area thoroughly but were unable to locate the suspect.

In the suspect vehicle they located a loaded firearm and a bulletproof vest.

This is an active investigation so no further information is available about this case.
