RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – A Greene, Iowa man was taken to jail for drunk driving after a vehicle fire on the Avenue of the Saints outside Mason City.
Saturday afternoon at about 1:30 PM, Cerro Gordo deputies responded to the 179 mile marker area of Highway 18 eastbound lanes for a vehicle fire that was reported. Deputies investigated and determined a man at the scene who had been driving, 40-year-old Bradley Edward Schweizer of Greene, was intoxicated. He was arrested there and taken to jail, and soon released.
Schweizer plead guilty to operating while intoxicate din Floyd county in 2008. Records show he still owes over $2,000 in fines and court fees in that case.
Schweizer said via social media on October 6 that “I wana be a good man. . . I wana do right. . .Dont wana be a criminal for the rest of my life. (sic)”
