No. 1 NIACC women stop Southeastern, 83-70

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – The No. 1 NIACC women’s basketball team stopped Southeastern 83-70 Wednesday night in the NIACC gym.

Sophomore Chelsey Jacox led the Lady Trojans with 21 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Trojans (16-1 overall, 5-0 in the ICCAC) also received 15 points from Lateeka Thompson, 14 points from Emily Bell, 11 Morgan Walker and 10 from Sierra Ford-Washington.

NIACC, which trailed 38-31 at the half, outscored Southeastern (5-13, 1-4) 52-32 in the second half.

NIACC returns to action Saturday at Iowa Western in a nonconference game.
