JANESVILLE – On December 10, 2013, a citizen discovered the body of a deceased adult male, later identified as 29 year-old Daniel Fike, on top of the frozen Cedar River under the Old Highway 218 Bridge in Janesville.
The Janesville Police Department and Bremer County Sheriff’s Office requested the assistance of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation to assist in the investigation. The Janesville and Cedar Falls Fire Departments also assisted in recovering Fike’s body off of the River.
There is no indication of foul play at this time. The investigation is on-going and the State Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy in the near future.
