CLEAR LAKE — Dani Ollenburg, a lifelong Iowan and resident of the North Iowa community, officially announced her candidacy for State Representative in District 60 on February 22, 2026. Running as a Republican, Ollenburg emphasizes a platform rooted in limited government, accountability, and traditional Iowa values.  Jane Bloomingdale is the current Republican incumbent in this seat.

Ollenburg’s campaign is built on several key pillars aimed at protecting the interests of her constituents:

Property Rights: She has pledged to defend property owners against the “abuses of eminent domain”.

School Choice: Ollenburg advocates for families to have the ability to select the public, private, or homeschool options that best fit their specific needs.

Fiscal Responsibility: Her platform prioritizes accountability and transparency for taxpayers alongside a belief in limited government.

Pro-Life Values: She intends to uphold pro-life values within the Iowa legislature.

Deep Roots in the North Iowa Community: Ollenburg brings a diverse background to her candidacy. Before transitioning to her current focus on community and family, she worked as a licensed healthcare provider. For the past six years, she has dedicated her time to raising her family and homeschooling her three children: Piper (20), Keely (18), and Knox (11).

She lives in Clear Lake with her husband, Rex. Ollenburg notes that her “hands-on experience” working on various political campaigns alongside current representatives has given her deep insight into the issues most important to Iowans.

“Standing firm for Iowa families requires a representative who is beholden to the people, not special interests.” — Dani Ollenburg

Ollenburg has invited residents of District 60 to join her campaign, share their ideas, and participate in upcoming community events. She emphasizes her dedication to being accessible and listening to the concerns of her constituents.
