MASON CITY – Despite the threat of severe thunderstorms Friday, the Mohawk homecoming afternoon events went on as scheduled.
The coronation, where Lexy Pederson and Tommy Johnson were crowned Homecoming King and Queen 2013, was held at the High School, followed by the parade and pep rally in Central Park.
Mason City vs. Ottumwa football game scheduled for 5:30 p.m. was postponed until around 9:30 at the Mohawk Field. The Mohawks won the game, 17-14 as the game lasted to nearly 1:00 AM.
