MASON CITY – A brief but dangerous hail storm hit Mason City and surrounding areas Friday evening.
Not a lot of damage was reported, but a storm the previous day brought down some tree branches.
The hail was about the size of a quarter, pelting structures and vehicles for just a few minutes. Cool winds and rain followed.

A few minutes tell that to my car! we had ping pong size hail and it covered the ground at my place. Was nuts!
Did it do a lot of damage to cars there?
I just grateful we didn’t get the snow the Black Hills got..40 plus inches in some spots!
