The two comedies featured in the performance are 1917’s The Cure, starring Charlie Chaplin, and Smilin’ Through with Norma Talmadge from 1922. In The Cure, Chaplin plays a drunkard who checks into a health spa to get sober, but things do not go asplanned when he brings along a suitcase full of alcohol. Talmadge’s Smilin’ Through follows a young woman who is prevented from marrying her admirer because of her guardian’s memories of unrequited love.
A celebrated organist, Foreman performs film scores as part of the Kansas Silent Film Festival and at concerts and events sponsored by Kansas City Theater Pipe Organ, Inc., held at the historic Art-Deco Music Hall in Kansas City, Mo. He has also performed as a soloist with the Kansas CitySymphony, the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory Orchestra, and the Youth Symphony of Kansas City.
