NIACC at Kansas Relays this weekend

niacc_trojans_logoLAWRENCE, Kan. – The NIACC men’s and women’s track and field teams will compete in the Kansas Relays starting Thursday.

The Trojans’ Mason Powers and Trent Smith both qualified in the 5,000-meter run and Sapolai Yao qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

Also, OJ Ojullu, Alex Blomquist, Matt Bowman and Jonny Worley will compete in the 800-meter run. Lindsay Brunson and Hillary Garvey will run the 800 for the NIACC women’s team.

Trey Taylor will compete in the javelin and Will Hanson will compete in the 110-meter hurdles.

The Trojans will also run in the sprint medley relay, the distance medley relay and the 4×400-meter relay.

Thursday, April 18

Men’s 5,000 (7:15 p.m.) – Mason Powers, Trent Smith.

Friday, April 19

Men’s javelin (8 a.m.) – Trey Taylor.

Men’s 110 hurdles (prelims) (9:35 a.m.) – Will Hanson.

Distance medley relay (2:50 p.m.) – Final.

Men’s 3,000 steeplechase (5:25 p.m.) – Sapolai Yao.

Men’s 4×400-meter relay (7:05 p.m.) – Prelims.

Saturday, April 20

Men’s sprint medley relay (8:55 a.m.) – Final.

Women’s 800 (1:40 p.m.) – Lindsay Brunson, Hillary Garvey.

Men’s 800 (1:45 p.m.) – OJ Ojullu, Alex Blomquist, Matt Bowman, Jonny Worley.
