MASON CITY – Hampton-Dumont’s Madison Craighton signed a national letter of intent to play volleyball next fall at NIACC.
Craighton, a defensive specialist, had 138 digs last season for Hampton-Dumont.
“My success in the sport of volleyball has come from years of hard work, ambition and passion for this sport,” Craighton said. “It took dedication, team work and perserverance to fulfill my dream of playing volleyball at the collegiate level.”
NIACC coach Chris Brandt said she’s excited to have Craighton on board for next fall.
“Madison played for our North Star club volleyball team last year as a junior and the coaches fell in love with her passion for the game,” Brandt said. “She works extremely hard and is already very committed to NIACC volleyball.”
Hampton-Dumont coach Cinda Barz echoed Brandt’s thoughts about Craighton’s passion for volleyball.
“Madison Craighton has a passion for volleyball that is noticeable the first time she sets foot on the court,” Barz said. “Madison play all positions on the court for me.
“It was nice having her flexibility and knowledge for the game. Her smile and positive attitude was contagious on and off the court.”
