WORTH COUNTY – At approximately 1:15 pm Wednesday, emergency crews were dispatched to a one vehicle rollover. The accident sends one woman to Rochester by Mercy AirMed.
At 3777 Thrush Avenue in Worth County, Loren Sweetland and John witnessed the accident. They assisted the woman until the Worth County Sheriff and Medical help arrived.
Sweetland said, “The vehicle did a 180 and flew in the air before coming to rest on its side.”
Sweetland noticed baby shoes in the backseat and quickly asked the woman if anyone else was inside the vehicle. The woman answered “no” and that she couldn’t move, that she needed help.
Chris Smith, who was at the scene after the accident, reported seeing no skid marks on the pavement or driveway. The vehicle was heading south, crossed the center line and preceded to drive in the opposite ditch. Hitting a culvert, that acted like a ramp, went airborne over a 15 to 20 foot gravel driveway and landed on its side, facing the opposite way it was going.
It was reported that AirMed would be taking the woman to Rochester.
