MASON CITY – Wells Fargo is giving back to the community this holiday season.

The downtown branch, located at 10 North Washington Avenue in downtown Mason City, is participating in the “Christmas is in the cans” charity project.  The project is coordinated by Ozzie Ohl, and is designed to collect food items that will be donated to the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank.

At the Wells Fargo offices, Bank Manager Reid Peterson says he and his employees are happy to help out.  “A great way to give back to the community and help a worthy cause,” he said.

Peterson put personal banker Luke Conner in charge of organizing the effort for their office.  “Luke was recently promoted and I thought this would be great for him to handle,” Peterson said.

Conner set up a display in the main lobby, where anyone can come in and drop-off donations.  “Just come in and drop any donations right at the table, or people can approach a teller if they feel more comfortable doing that,” he said.

Conner said that donations will be accepted all they way through December 16th.

Office hours are Monday through Thursday 8:30 AM-5:30 PM, Friday 8:30 AM-06:00 PM and Sat 8:30 AM-02:00 PM.
