SHEFFIELD – A train derailment near Sheffield resulted in no spill and no one was injured.
A Union Pacific Railroad spokesperson provided the following statement to NIT on April 6 in regard to a train derailment that took place on April 5:
“Thank you for reaching out to Union Pacific. At approximately 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a single car on a Union Pacific train derailed near Sheffield, Iowa. There were no injuries and no hazmat involved. Union Pacific crews worked overnight to repair the tracks, which reopened early this morning.”
