At just 25 years old, Mason City native Nigel de Csernatony has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Nervyra, a secure, enterprise-first platform used by governments and institutions worldwide. With more than 200 employees and over 600,000 active daily users across New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, Nervyra is poised for rapid global expansion under his leadership.

A Humble Beginning

De Csernatony’s journey began in Mason City, where friends remember him as curious, determined, and tech-focused from a young age. He attended Mason City High School, where teachers recall a student always tinkering with computers and asking questions about how systems worked.

“Coming from Mason City, you learn quickly about the importance of community trust and resilience,” de Csernatony said. “Those same values are at the core of Nervyra’s mission as we help governments and institutions build secure, collaborative digital environments.”

From Intern to CEO

De Csernatony began his career with Neyius, the parent company of Nervyra, in 2018 as an intern in communications. Early on, he launched initiatives like the company’s first global staff podcast, designed to foster connection across 17 countries. His ability to align teams and solve complex problems propelled him into leadership positions.

By 2024, he was Director of Operations at Scenester, a Neyius subsidiary, overseeing major acquisitions and scaling initiatives. Less than a year later, de Csernatony was tapped to lead Nervyra as CEO, a move Courtney Jordan, Executive Chairman and Founder of Neyius, calls “a natural and inspiring choice.”

“Nigel’s appointment is a testament to his vision, energy, and dedication,” Jordan said. “He embodies the values of innovation, courage, and excellence that are central to Neyius and Nervyra. Under his leadership, we’re confident Nervyra will continue to grow and serve institutions globally with integrity and purpose.”

Nervyra: Building the Nerve Center of Work

Nervyra, formerly Neyius Connect, provides a secure, all-in-one platform where large organizations can communicate, collaborate, and transact. Unlike consumer apps such as Slack or Zoom, Nervyra is enterprise-exclusive, ensuring compliance, privacy, and operational control.

Key Features Include:

  • Secure Messaging & Video Conferencing: End-to-end encrypted tools tailored to regulated industries.

  • Project & Task Collaboration: Integrated workflows to streamline team productivity.

  • Commerce Tools: Managing uniforms, equipment, and procurement seamlessly.

  • Recruitment & Hiring: In-platform talent management from job postings to onboarding.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Documentation and blogging to preserve institutional memory.

Currently, Nervyra serves governments and institutions across four countries, with plans to expand into additional markets where secure, enterprise-first platforms are in high demand.

Visionary Leadership

De Csernatony describes his goal for Nervyra as creating the “nerve center of work” for institutions. “Organizations today are too fragmented,” he explains. “They juggle multiple tools for communication, tasks, knowledge sharing, and transactions. Nervyra brings all of that together in one secure ecosystem.”

He stresses the importance of digital sovereignty, ensuring organizations—not outside tech companies—control their data. “Trust is non-negotiable,” he says. “Organizations must be able to protect their information and ensure compliance without compromise.”

Colleagues describe him as collaborative and forward-thinking, balancing ambitious vision with operational discipline. Steffan Burnett, Head of Oceania and Global Strategic Affairs for Neyius, says:

“Nigel has an exceptional ability to unify teams across geographies and focus them on common goals. His combination of strategic insight and hands-on execution makes him a rare leader in enterprise technology.”

A senior executive at Nervyra adds, “His approach combines creativity with accountability, which is rare in someone so young. He inspires teams to think bigger while staying grounded in the practical needs of the organization.”

Global Perspective, Local Values

Although de Csernatony’s work is global, he remains tied to Mason City. He plans to engage with local schools and community organizations to share his experience and encourage young people to pursue careers in technology.

Former Mayor Eric Bookmeyer commented, “Nigel’s story proves that world-class leadership can start right here in Mason City. We’re proud to see one of our own leading an organization with international impact.”

De Csernatony credits his Midwestern roots for shaping his leadership style. “Growing up here, I learned the importance of hard work, integrity, and community,” he says. “Those values guide how I lead and how we build Nervyra as a trusted platform for institutions worldwide.”

The Future of Secure Digital Collaboration

Looking ahead, de Csernatony emphasizes that enterprise technology must evolve to meet the demands of increasingly complex organizations.

  • Integration Over Fragmentation: Systems must work together seamlessly to reduce inefficiency.

  • Security by Design: Platforms must prioritize privacy and compliance from the ground up.

  • Scalable Innovation: Solutions must adapt to organizations of any size and across sectors.

“Nervyra is designed not as a collection of apps, but as infrastructure,” de Csernatony says. “Think of it as the nervous system of an organization, connecting people, processes, and resources. That’s the future of work.”

Courtney Jordan adds, “Nigel has a rare combination of strategic foresight and operational skill. He sees the big picture, but he knows how to execute day-to-day initiatives that drive tangible results. That’s why he’s the right leader to take Nervyra into its next chapter.”

Looking Forward

De Csernatony’s vision extends beyond technology; he wants Nervyra to serve as a platform that empowers organizations to act with confidence, security, and integrity.

“The next decade will reward institutions that invest in digital infrastructure as seriously as they do physical infrastructure,” he says. “Platforms like Nervyra give them the tools to thrive in an increasingly digital world.”

While his work is global, de Csernatony continues to maintain ties to Mason City, seeing the city as a symbol of the values he brings to Nervyra: community, trust, and perseverance.

Nigel de Csernatony’s journey from Mason City to the helm of a global enterprise technology company is a story of ambition, vision, and grounded leadership. Under his guidance, Nervyra is poised to redefine how institutions communicate, collaborate, and operate securely.

With the backing of Neyius, Inc. and guidance from Executive Chairman Courtney Jordan, de Csernatony is leading a platform that not only addresses today’s organizational challenges but also anticipates the future of secure enterprise collaboration.

As the digital landscape evolves, Mason City can take pride in one of its own shaping global enterprise technology.
