ROCKWELL – A woman driver was stopped on Highway 65 and waiting to turn left into town when an approaching woman driver failed to yield and slammed into the back of the turning vehicle, causing both females pain and discomfort.
On July 16, 2025, at 4:32 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 65 and 150th Street in Rockwell Iowa.
According to law enforcement, 34-year-old Heidi Parker of Rockwell was southbound and in her a gray 2017 GMC Acadia SLT when she stopped in the roadway on Highway 65 at Rockwell and attempted to make a left-hand turn onto 150th Street into Rockwell. As she waited, a white 2005 Pontiac G6 driven by 24-year-old Madellanie Bailey of Hampton was traveling southbound on Highway 65, failed to yield, and collided with the Acadia.
As a result of the crash, both drivers suffered minor injuries, but refused transport by EMS. Parker was transported to Mercy One in Mason City by private vehicle for her injuries.
Bailey was cited for failing to reduce speed in time to avoid the collision.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rockwell Police Department, Rockwell Fire, Rockwell EMS. and Lake Towing.
