Clarion A. Winzenburg, 90, of Sumner, died Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner.

Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Union Mound Cemetery in Sumner. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 30, 2025, at Grace Fellowship Church in Waterloo with Rev. Shane Klein and Rev. Ron Weimer officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 29, at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Sumner. There will be no visitation preceding services at the Church on Friday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.

Clarion Allen, son of William and Vanita (Kirchhoff) Winzenburg was born January 20, 1935, in Frederika. He was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Frederika and graduated from Frederika High School in 1953. Clarion was united in marriage with Donna Korte on February 2, 1962, in Elkader. He began his professional career at Rath Packing in Waterloo, prior to working at John Deere & Co. In addition to working at John Deere, he began farming in the Sumner and surrounding area in the 1970’s. Clarion later was the owner and operator of Sumner Farm & Home, Washburn Farm & Home and Wayne’s Ag. He enjoyed spending winters with Donna at their home in Kimberling City, Missouri. Clarion was a long time active member of the Sumner Lions Club. He collected old tractors, had a beautiful 1957 Ford Retractable and enjoyed fishing. Clarion cared deeply about his Faith and supporting the Sumner Community.

Clarion is survived by his wife, Donna of Sumner; children, Rebecka (Lawrence) Spuhler of Vancouver, Washington, Carolyn (Michael Diercks) Inman of Denver, and Allen (Brenda) Winzenburg of Sumner; grandchildren, Ian Bray, Tony (Kristi) Posey, Ben (Jeannea) Posey, Jessica (Daniel) Wenger, Jennifer (Travis) Gardner, and Amy (Nathan) Chester; great-grandchildren, Van and Peyton Posey, Ben and Cassidy Posey, Kiya Selleck and Brielle Gardner, and Lydia, Sophia and Louis Chester; brother, William Winzenburg of Cedar Falls; and sisters, Marlene Vaughn of Cedar Falls and Sheryl (Dennis) Boos of Roach, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra (David) Bray; sister-in-law, Doris Winzenburg; and brother-in-law, James Vaughn.
