CLEAR LAKE – Clear Lake is set to make big improvements to the City Beach area and a presentation was given at the last council meeting on the project.
At its regular City Council meeting on Monday night, Pat Dunn of RDG Planning & Design presented the Council with a concept and schematic plan for proposed improvements to City Beach and the surrounding area, the City said in an announcement. Upgrades would include an expanded splash pad area, new restroom facilities, pavilion, and walkway from North Shore Drive to City Beach.
City Adminstrator Scott Flory said Thursday, “City Beach has developed into one of the highest profile destinations in Clear Lake. I remember 18 years ago when it wasn’t such an exciting place.”
Now, on any given summer evening with decent weather, families with their children flock to the area. The draw will only be stronger once the improvements are completed.
