Maury was born April 30, 1934, in Carroll, Iowa, son of Herman and Eleanora (Koenig). He attended and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School in Breda, Iowa with the class of 1952. Shortly following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Margaret “Meg” Fitzgerald, October 5, 1968, at St. Joseph Catholic Church and to this union they were blessed with three children, Adam, Nicholas, and Bradi. For many years he worked as a supervisor with Pepsi. He later worked and retired as an independent distributor for Little Debbie. After he retired, he continued to work part-time at Hy-Vee West until he retired again at age 80.

Maury was a member of Epiphany Parish as well as the Knights of Columbus. It was a rare day that you would see Meg or Maury without the other right beside them. Together they sold tickets for every sporting event at Newman Catholic School. They also were involved with events at the Knights of Columbus. They were huge supporters of all Newman sports. He loved attending all of his grandchildren’s events. He never missed a game on TV, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed playing golf; even managing to get a hole in one at Oak Hills in Clear Lake! He held his Catholic faith close to his heart.

Those left to honor his memory are his children, Adam (Julie) Heinrichs of Mason City, Nicholas (Meggan) Heinrichs, of Ankeny, IA, and Bradi (Wesley) Theilen, of Mason City; grandchildren, Alexander, Molly, Abby, Andrew, Lindsey, and Alex; great-granddaughter, Arya; sisters-in-law, Maxine Heinrichs of Glencoe, MN, Bernadine Heinrichs of Carroll, IA, and Joan Behr of Algona, IA; brother-in-law, Bill (Terri) Fitzgerald of Waterloo, IA; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

Preceding him in death are his wife, Meg; parents Herman and Eleanora; father and mother-in-law, Willis and Agnes Fitzgerald; siblings, Cyril Heinrichs, Marvin Heinrichs, Harold Heinrichs, Dolores (Don) Koster, Richard (Mary) Heinrichs, Cletus (Ruth) Heinrichs, Janice (Denny) Loew; sisters-in-law, Natalie (Raymond) French, Mary “Sue” Dodge; brother-in-law, Robert Haywood; and nieces and nephews, Glenn Koster, Ellen Norby, Robert Loew, and Tammy Haxton.
