Eugene “Gene” Edward Studer, the son of John and Lois (Krug) Studer was born on June 3, 1947, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. Gene died on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home in Graettinger at the age of 77 years.
Gene graduated from Graettinger High School before opening his own welding shop. He married Pam Knudtson on April 1, 1965, and to this union, four children were born, Tami, Teri, Angie and Lance.
Gene later married Lauri Rierson on October 20, 1984, in Elk Point, South Dakota, to this union, two more children were born, Melissa and Steven.
In his free time, Gene enjoyed flying airplanes, model airplanes, fishing and hunting and family gatherings. He could often be found working on old tractors, and gas engines.
Gene is survived by his wife, Lauri Studer; children, Tami (Kevin) Jensen, Graettinger, IA, Teri (Guy) Peterson, Washta, IA, Angie (Jerry) Joyce, Graettinger, IA, Lance (Amy) Studer, Waukee, IA, Melissa Studer, Ruthven, IA, and Steven (Tonya) Studer, Graettinger, IA; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen (Wayne) Anderson, Sue Studer McCain, and Gerald (Lori) Studer; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lois, and mother- and father-in-law, Norris Rierson and Jan Gass.
