INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests for week of December 8 – 14, 2024.
On Sunday, December 08, 2024 at approximately 8:05 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Charlene Marie Smith, 47, of Arlington. Smith was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Failure to Appear and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Sunday, December 08, 2024 at approximately 2:20 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Dustin James Shonka, 35, of Independence. Shonka was charged with Driving While License Barred (aggravated misdemeanor), Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor) and Failure to Carry SR22 Insurance as Required (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1300 blk River Road Blvd.
On Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at approximately 3:45 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Shane Ryan Howard, 34, of Independence. Howard was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and was taken into custody from the Oelwein Police Department.
On Thursday, December 12, 2024 at approximately 12:10 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Loyd Leon Williams III, 38. of Oelwein. Williams was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and was taken into custody from the Oelwein Police Department.
On Thursday, December 12, 2024 at approximately 6:45 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jarrid Robert Campbell, 35, of Walker. Campbell was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for original charges of second degree Sexual Abuse (class B felony), third degree Sexual Abuse (class C felony) filed by the Jesup Police Department. This arrest was made in the 3200 blk Lucas Avenue.
On Friday, December 13, 2024 at approximately 8:20 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jeremiah Ray Mizerny, 37, of Cedar Rapids. Mizerny was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and taken into custody from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.
