Former Iowa woman slams Joe Biden for recognizing Transgender Day on Easter

WASHINGTON, D.C. – It’s Easter Sunday, the sweet-salty aroma of baked ham and devoured Peeps is wafting through kitchens across America, and somewhere an angry uncle is filling every square centimeter of his plate while declaring the World is doomed because his purple-haired niece recognized Transgender Day of Visibility.

According to the U.S. State Department, and the President of the United States, Joe Biden, each year on March 31, International Transgender Day of Visibility is recognized. This year it happens to fall on Easter Sunday, which is on a different date most years. Most recently, in 2019, March 31 fell on a Sunday, too, but Joe Biden wasn’t President then. This year, the forces of inclusion and equality and some might say, decency, didn’t bother to move the day of recognition so as to appease the rabid Christo-fascists amongst us.  They are on their knees in churches this Easter Sunday for the risen Christ, a man who wore a gown and had long hair and never got married and hung out with a lot of men and washed their feet. And your seething uncle, fresh out of Church with the stink of Communion wine still on his breath, is not alone in his foaming hatred today.

One of those folks ready to roll heads is a former Iowan and Olympic Champion, Bruce, err, make that Caitlyn Jenner (pictured at top via Twitter TMZ). Ms. Jenner has discarded the Olympic traditions of inclusion and brotherhood and embraced full-on MAGA beliefs, attacking those pesky transgender persons and anyone offering support, in her social rants starting yesterday.

“I am absolutely disgusted that Joe Biden has declared the most Holy of Holy days – a self proclaimed devout Catholic – as Transgender Day of Visibility,” Ms. Jenner hissed. “The only thing you should be declaring on this day is ‘HE is Risen’.”

Alrighty then. But the lusty Ms. Jenner, who loves to get in the news for all sorts of reasons, wasn’t done.

“Hey there… it’s called Easter Sunday. The Holiest Day in the Christian faith that BILLIONS of people practice worldwide,” in response to a post about recognizing transgender persons.

Ashley Hinson may be as confused about Transgender folks as she is about her own lifestyle of slamming others who receive loan forgiveness yet accepting a $143,000 PPP loan that will never be paid back?

Locking hands in a chorus of condemnation and punching downward on the possibly troubled amongst our flock are countless political leaders who slammed those who might understand that transgender folks are people, too. North Iowa’s pious Christian Congresswoman, Ashley Hinson, offered a barrage of attacks, saying, “The Biden Administration is marking Easter Sunday with a ‘Transgender Day of Visibility.’ This is not a coincidence. It’s clear this Administration has so much contempt for Christians & people of faith — what a slap in the face.”

Hinson, a rabid supporter of Donald Trump, was likely brimming with Joy (Jesus, Others, Yourself?) as the accused felon, once-arrested, adjudicated sexual assaulter, defeated former President blasted his nemesis President Biden (a devout Catholic) for the audacity to recognize Transgender people and celebrate Easter all at the same time. Trump, who is offering to sell you a Bible for $60, started the MAGA uproar over the matter, calling the overlap of the occasions “an assault on the Christian faith” and demanding an apology.

President Joe Biden

President Biden joined folks all over the World in recognizing Transgender Day today, saying, “On Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor the extraordinary courage and contributions of transgender Americans and reaffirm our Nation’s commitment to forming a more perfect Union — where all people are created equal and treated equally throughout their lives. I am proud that my Administration has stood for justice from the start, working to ensure that the LGBTQI+ community can live openly, in safety, with dignity and respect. I am proud to have appointed transgender leaders to my Administration and to have ended the ban on transgender Americans serving openly in our military. I am proud to have signed historic Executive Orders that strengthen civil rights protections in housing, employment, health care, education, the justice system, and more. I am proud to have signed the Respect for Marriage Act into law, ensuring that every American can marry the person they love. Transgender Americans are part of the fabric of our Nation. My Administration is working to stop the bullying and harassment of transgender children and their families. Today, we send a message to all transgender Americans: You are loved. You are heard. You are understood. You belong. You are America, and my entire Administration and I have your back.”

Demonstrating his capability to comprehend that more than one task can be accomplished in the same day, President Biden also celebrated Easter, saying, “Jill and I send our warmest wishes to Christians around the world celebrating Easter Sunday. Easter reminds us of the power of hope and the promise of Christ’s Resurrection. As we gather with loved ones, we remember Jesus’ sacrifice. We pray for one another and cherish the blessing of the dawn of new possibilities. And with wars and conflict taking a toll on innocent lives around the world, we renew our commitment to work for peace, security, and dignity for all people. From our family to yours, happy Easter and may God bless you.”

Meanwhile this Easter morning, clearly striking a tone Jesus would be proud of, Donald Trump posted to his social media, “Never Forget Our Cowards and Weaklings!”

  1. If my birthday fell on the same day as Transgender Visibility Day, I would have no problem sharing the day. The man that all Christians should be celebrating today for his sacrifice would have felt the same way about sharing the day when he rose from the dead with those who are being persecuted because of how they think.
