MASON CITY – Republican Cerro Gordo county Supervisor Casey Callanan announced today he is seeking a second term. Callanan, who has been chairman for three years, presided over lowering the county’s property tax rate. “It’s been an honor to serve north Iowans,” Callanan said, “and there’s more I’d like to accomplish.”
Recently, Callanan along with his fellow Supervisors accepted no pay raises proposed by the Compensation Board. “In the private sector raises are not automatic, nor should they be in county Government.” Callanan went on to say, “There are other cost saving measures I would like to implement if re-elected”.
Casey and his wife Hunter live in Clear Lake.
