Northern Iowa man accused of sexual exploitation of minor

ARCHER, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man is accused of sexual exploitation of minor and disseminating obscene material in connection to the alleged crime.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office investigated took a report of sexual exploitation of a minor. It was determined that 20-year-old Dylan Petersen, of Archer, caused a minor to engage in a sexual act and had reason to know or intend that the act may be photographed or filmed. Petersen also is alleged to have disseminated obscene material to the minor by use of telephone.

A warrant was issued for Petersen’s arrest. Petersen was arrested on February 23rd in O’brien County and transported to the Dickinson County Jail.

Petersen was charged with Sexual Exploitation of a Minor (Class C Felony), and Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material to a Minor (Aggravated Misdemeanor).

Petersen posted a $12,000 bond on February 24th.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 6th, 2018.
