AMES, IOWA – An Iowa woman rolled out of bed – and right out a third story window at her Iowa State campus apartment early Friday morning, sending her to a hospital.
Iowa State University Police in Ames responded to a medical assist call at Frederiksen Court Apartments at 3:00 AM on March 17, 2016. A female resident called police after hearing a woman calling for help outside of her apartment building. The female resident went to assist the woman, who had apparently fallen from the window in her apartment bedroom on the third floor.
Officers responded and began providing medical assistance. When officers arrived on scene, the woman was conscious and alert but did have injuries which required her to be transported to Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
The woman told police that her elevated bed was directly in front of her bedroom window which was open at the time of her fall. There does not appear to be drugs or alcohol involved. At this time, it appears that this fall was accidental in nature, police say.
