MASON CITY – A man with prior theft convictions allegedly stole an item from a Mason City store, and cops tracked him down at his house.
According to Mason City police, on June 1, 2015, at 2:50 PM, a theft was reported at Fleet Farm, 3200 4th Street SW. The suspect left the store without paying for a $60 fishing reel and drove away in a vehicle.
However, a witness got the license plate and vehicle description, and police began to investigate his whereabouts. They soon discovered that the suspect, 48-year-old Treve Allan Williams, lives at 1740 Cerro Gordo Way in Mason City, and went to his house. They appeared to check his vehicle and knock on the door, and he answered.
After a discussion, Williams was arrested on a charge of aggravated misdemeanor third degree theft, enhanced due to two prior convictions for theft.
Williams was also wanted on a contempt of court warrant. He was given a 30 day jail sentence for failure to pay child support.

Wow that cop is really ready with both hands grabbing his ass cheeks!!! Way to be alert!!!!
This douchebag stole DVDs from me. POS thief.
Wow the Slattery kids can’t afford a $60 reel or child support? I’m sure his dad makes enough since he owns dang near 50 Subway restaurants now.
Damn thieves anyway. they are everywhere. What is wrong with people that they think they can steal other people’s property?
Great. They chase down a guy for shoplifting a $60 reel, but they won’t do anything about a bad check under $200.
