Six people arrested after teen escapes drug house

investigateLEGRAND, IOWA – A call from a California mother reporting that her teenage son had been held against his will at an Iowa residence lead to a search warrant and six arrests.

March 31, 2015 at approximately 5:30 P.M. Marshall County deputies received a report from a California woman reporting that her sixteen year-old son had allegedly been compelled by threats and deception to stay at 204 N. Grandview Drive in LeGrand for the previous two weeks.

Reportedly, the teen was able to slip away and contact his mother. Deputies were able to locate the juvenile, take him into protective custody and interview him. The home was alleged to be a den of drug use and sales, with the presence of firearms.

Information provided by the youth along with intelligence information already documented by authorities lead to the application and issuance of a search warrant for the residence, occupants and vehicle.

A traffic stop of a vehicle leaving the residence was conducted at approximately 1:45 AM, April 1, 2015. The driver, Kylie Price and passenger, Chad Bryant were subsequently arrested for controlled substance and alcohol violations.

At approximately 3:00 AM, a team comprised of Marshall County deputies, Mid-Iowa drug task force agents, State Center Police and Melbourne police executed the search warrant at the LeGrand residence. Four additional adults were ultimately arrested and three children were taken into protective custody through the drug-endangered children protocol and provided medical assessment.

Arrested were the following individuals:

Chad Bryant, age 27, LeGrand
Possession of a controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon, false imprisonment, 3 counts child endangerment, keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substances, drug paraphernalia. He was held on a $5000 bond which has since been posted.

Kylie Price, age 26. LeGrand
Possession of a controlled substance, open alcohol container, possession of drug paraphernalia, 3 counts of of child endangerment, keeping premises or vehicle for controlled substances. She was released with supervision by the Department of Corrections.

Emanuel Dailey, age 30, Marshalltown
Possession of a controlled substance (2nd offense), possession of drug paraphernalia. Remains in jail on $1300 bond.

Bryan Glover, age 44, Marshalltown
Possession of drug paraphernalia, plead guilty, fined and released.

Courtney Olson AKA Courtney Kracke, age 21, Gladbrook
Possession of a controlled substance, released on personal recognizance

Andrew Vrolijk, age 30, Marshalltown
Possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, remains in jail on $1300 bond.

Two rifles and a handgun were seized along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia including that associated with methamphetmine use.
