
CHARLES CITY – A dog was killed when struck by a Charles City driver.
The accident happened on the afternoon of August 21, police say. At about 3:49 PM that day, officers with the Charles City police department responded to the 300 block of 4th Avenue for a motor vehicle accident. Police investigated and discovered that 87-year-old Larry Stewart of Charles City was traveling on 4th Avenue when a loose dog ran out in front of his 2006 Cadillac DTS and he dog was struck.
As a result of the accident, he dog was deceased.
