MASON CITY – A woman who is accused of leaving her two young sons alone in a garage with a sex offender and later beating up her mom has court dates and plea hearings set.
Peterson was awaiting a January 6, 2015 trial on two counts of child endangerment, stemming from an incident in September when police discovered she had left her 3-year-old and 5 year-old sons alone in a garage with a convicted sex offender. She has entered a not guilty plea. A charge of violation of a no-contact order from that incident was dismissed.
However, on November 4, judge Karen Salic set a plea hearing for November 14.
In Peterson’s latest brush with the law, Mason City police were called to 929 North Taylor Avenue on October 28 at about 6:46 PM for a disturbance. Officers arrived and discovered 32-year-old Jamie Lynn Peterson at the scene. Peterson had reportedly damaged multiple objects inside the home belonging to her relatives. The value of the damaged items will exceed $1000. During Peterson’s incident, she allegedly assaulted her mother by hitting her about the head and neck several times. Peterson was charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief and Simple Assault and jailed. After an investigation, she was arrested on charges of assault and felony second degree criminal mischief.
A trial date on the assault charge has been set for April 29, 2015.
Peterson remains jailed on $5,000 cash bond. She awaits a November 17 arraignment on the felony criminal mischief charge and a bond review will also be held at that hearing.

I wish I was a female in jail with her. I would beat her Like crazy.
Hopefully her bond will be set high enough she can’t get out snd hurt her mother or put her children in jeopardy again. Sickening. And the smirk on her face…even more sickening.
