FOREST CITY – A major news outlet is reporting that Winnebago Industries, headquartered in Forest City is hitting it big at this time.

Calling the demand for Recreational Vehicle’s “pent up” and the market now “red hot” CNBC says “more Americans are Winnebagoing it everywhere”.

“More proof that the economy is getting stronger,” CNBC reported.  “Just like in the movie ‘Spaceballs.’  RVs are no longer a joke folks.  Economists look at recreation vehicle sales to gauge disposable income.”

A big jump in sales has been reported.

“This is nationwide,” CNBC said.  “We’re going to see them top 300,000 this year.  Growth up at least 38%.  And the reason why, you’ve got a couple of things working here.  Clearly, the economy has improved.  That’s why dealer lots are seeing more traffic than ever before.  But also, seeing month-to-month growth in sales due to pent-up demand and moderate gas prices are also helping.  The RV makers are also saying that the people buying now are looking for more connectivity and more comfort.  That’s why they’re going for top-of-the-line detailing with all of the RVs that they’re buying.”

CNBS reported that shares of Winnebago Industries over the last five years – in particular the last year and a half – has been particularly strong for shareholders of Winnebago.

Shares of Winnebago (WGO) were up over 6% Tuesday morning and set a 52-week high at $24.55.  The range over the past year has been $9.52 to $24.55 per share.

A new Winnebago RV can cost $380,000 or more.

Because you don’t have$380,000.

Why would I spend $380,000 and get under 10 miles a gallon AND have to pay park fee’s when I can stay at a motel for under $100?

You can park them free and any Wal-Mart in the country LOL! A lot of time, they people that buy these sell their home and live up north in the summer and winter in the south and can live in different areas every year if they want.

Fair enough, still on the spendy side.
