MOSCOW, June 16 (UPI) — President Barack Obama and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin will discuss anti-terrorism cooperation during talks scheduled for June 17, officials said.

Obama and Putin have planned to meet on the sidelines of the Group of Eight summit in Northern Ireland, ITAR-Tass reported.

They will discuss “deepening cooperation in the anti-terrorism sphere,” said Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov. “Critical need for close, free of politicizing cooperation between the Russian and American secret services has found confirmation in connection with the tragic events in Boston on April 15.”

“The Russian side is also interested in cooperation with American secret services to ensure security at the Sochi Olympic Games,” Ushakov added.
