MASON CITY – Law enforcement was called to a Mason City convenience store Monday for an “uncooperative shoplifter.”

According to law enforcement, Peggy Sue Oconnell, 54, of Rake, Iowa was arrested at the Casey’s General Store located at 1361 12th Street NW on Monday at about 3 PM.  Sheriffs indicated that Oconnell was not cooperating as she was arrested.  A sheriff’s deputy detained Oconnell until Mason CIty police arrived.

Oconnell has at least five convictions of theft already on her record.  She was charged with theft in the third degree, an aggravated misdemeanor.  Records did not indicate when her court date was set for.
