LAKOTA, IOWA – Initial caucus polling results from multiple counties in Iowa’s Fourth District show that Christian Schlaefer’s grassroots congressional campaign is resonating strongly with voters, despite entering the race as a true outsider and first-time candidate.

Across reporting counties as of Tuesday morning (Wright, Emmet, Kossuth, Sioux, Clay, Crawford, Palo Alto, Monona, and Shelby per The Iowa Standard) Schlaefer out performed well-funded and long-established campaigns, landing in first place with 31.1 percent of the overall vote. He earned significant support in areas where his campaign relied almost entirely on direct voter contact, local volunteers, and issue-driven messaging rather than insider politics or institutional backing.

“These results confirm what we’ve known for months,” said Schlaefer. “When you take a real message directly to the people, you can beat money, name recognition, and insider endorsements. Iowans are done with Washington games. They understand what is at stake in our nation and they want someone who will fight where it matters most.”

While other campaigns tout early fundraising, Schlaefer’s campaign was built from the ground up through town halls, one-on-one conversations, volunteer outreach, and a blunt, unapologetic message about restoring American values.

The campaign emphasized that the results are especially notable given the disparity in resources.

“Measured against funding and institutional support, this is decisive grassroots victory,” the campaign said. “We continue to be a campaign run entirely by Christian and volunteers – no staffers, no consultants, and no one pulling the strings from Washington. Despite this, Christian is not only competitive, he is leading the polling.”

The campaign views these early results as validation of its strategy and a clear sign of momentum heading into the next phase of the race.

“Chris McGowan has been declaring himself the obvious front runner based on fundraising totals. It’s evident that the polls disagree.” Schlaefer said. “The 4th District does not want more empty slogans. When we say that this county must be rebuilt by Main Street and the Church, Iowan’s know that I will truly fight to make that happen.”

Christian Schlaefer is a farmer, businessman, community leader, volunteer firefighter, and lay preacher from Lakota, Iowa. He is running for Congress in Iowa’s 4th District under the Republican party to restore American values, protect Iowa’s families, and ensure that Washington once again works for the people.

The statement from him “The 4th District does not want more empty slogans. When we say that this county must be rebuilt by Main Street and the Church, Iowan’s know that I will truly fight to make that happen.” tells me all I need to know. This “county” (probably meant country) was not founded to be run by the church. It was the opposite. The church has its place in this country but not in politics.
