Adel, IOWA — On February 18, 2012, the Dallas County Communications center received a 911 call at 11:06 PM, indicating there was suspicious activity at 2121 Greene Street, Building A in Adel. The Adel Police Department and the Dallas County Sheriff’s office responded to the scene. Law enforcement officers found 26 year old Nathan Greene of Adel, Iowa outside the apartment building; he was suffering from a gunshot wound. Greene was transported to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines where he was later pronounced dead.
Law Enforcement identified Greene’s shooter as 24 year old Brandon Madren of Adel, Iowa. Madren was taken into custody and has been charged with Murder in the First Degree, a Class “A” Felony, and Reckless Use of a Firearm Causing Serious Injury, a Class “C” Felony. He remains in the Dallas County Jail.
This is an ongoing investigation and nothing more will be released at this time. The investigation is being conducted by the Adel Police Department, Division of Criminal Investigation and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
