Dennis M. Grauerholz, 73, of Nora Springs passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026.

Funeral services will be held 10am Friday, April 17, 2026 at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 3rd St. NE, Mason City with Mark Doebel officiating. Burial will be in Rock Grove Cemetery, rural Nora Springs.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.

Memorials may be directed in care of Dennis’ family.

Dennis was born on January 4, 1953 in Omaha, Nebraska to Harold and Rita Grauerholz. He was the youngest of the family which included two sisters and one brother. He graduated from Nora Springs-Rock Falls High School in 1972. On October 25, 1975 he was married to Mary McManus and to this marriage two children were born, Daniel and Sarah.

Dennis worked in the meat packing industry for most of his life until retiring in 2018.

Dennis was known for his strong will and his belief that his way was the right way. He was always ready with advice – whether it was needed or not. He was very mechanically inclined and could figure just about anything out. Dennis had a great sense of humor, loved to tease those around him, and lived life without worrying too much about what others thought.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, deer rides on the country roads and sitting around with his friends having a cold one. He looked forward to spending time with family and watching his grandkids play sports.

Dennis is survived by his son, Dan (Stephanie) Grauerholz of Des Moines, Iowa and their children Crissy, Jake, Shaun, Mya, Jaeonna, Stella, Lilly, and Charlee; daughter, Sarah (Dan) Alden of West Concord, Minnesota and their children Madelyn, Olivia, and Weston; siblings, Lyn Brown and Gayle Uker; nephew, David Brown; sisters-in-law, Anne McManus, Helen Smith, Carlolyn (LeRoy) Berding, and Sandra Prescott; brother-in-law, Michael (Mary)McManus; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; parents, Harold and Rita Grauerholz; in-laws, Marshall and Mabel McManus; brother, Larry Grauerholz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Shirley Neve, Alice Smith and Linda (Dennis) Hartig; nephews, Michael Brown, Bryan Brandau and Charlie Brandau and several other family members and close friends.
