Dixie L. Ganske, 93, of Sumner, died Friday, March 13, 2026, at Stoney Brook Village in West Union.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner with Rev. Tracy Hinkel officiating. Interment will follow at the Church Cemetery, rural Sumner. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Friday, March 20th at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the Church on Saturday. Memorials may be made in Dixie’s name to St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner.

Dixie L., daughter of Norbert and Florence (Buhr) Ranard was born July 26, 1932, in Waterloo, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Dixie attended Waterloo Schools and graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1950. On April 13, 1952, she was united in marriage with William Ganske at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waterloo. To this union five children were born, William, Jr., Luanne, Richard, Patricia, and Kathryn. Dixie’s professional career began at Peoples Natural Gas, prior to working at the Red Geranium, Red Heart Pizza and later at West Union Dental, where she retired from. She was a long time faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sumner. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan. Dixie was an incredibly devoted mother and grandmother and cherished every moment she was able to be with her family, never missing an opportunity to attend one of her grandkids and great-grandkids many activities.

Dixie is survived by her children, William, Jr. (Cindy) Ganske, Luanne (Steve) Blasberg, Richard (Lori) Ganske, Patricia (Dr. Cam) Elmer, and Kathryn (Rick) Moser; grandchildren, Dr. Wendy (Josh) Troutman, Traci (Deon) Birkes, Krista (Adam) Smith, Kate Wirtjes, Nick (Erin) Blasberg, Brett (Dr. Krisanna) Blasberg, Dr. Bill (Kaleigh) Ganske, Lacey (Nick) Meyer, Marcus (Autum) Ganske, Benny (Emily) Ganske, Will Elmer, Tara (Bryan) Anderson, Matt Moser, and Tiffany Moser; great-grandchildren, Lauren Troutman, Cael Troutman, Jace Birkes, Layni Birkes, Tanner Smith, Sophie Smith, Ty Smith, Kinzie Wirtjes, James Wirtjes, Patrick Wirtjes, Andrew Blasberg, Allison Blasberg, Ashley Blasberg, Robert Blasberg, Grant Blasberg, Nora Meyer, Leo Meyer, Hudson Ganske, Addie Ganske, Dawson Ganske, Gracie Ganske, Jaxon Ganske, Vincent Ganske, Nathaniel Ganske, Hannah Ganske, Camden Anderson, Brayden Anderson, Grayson Anderson, Madilyn Moser, Makena Moser, Luke Moser, Landon Moser and great-grandchild number 33 baby Ganske coming soon; brother, Norbert “Jay” (Jean) Ranard of Tripoli; and sister-in-law, Margaret Schwake of Sumner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William, Sr.; grandson, Michael Moser; and sister and her husband, Dena (Paul) Tiedt.
