SIOUX CITY – The Sioux City Human Rights Commission has fined a landlord $10,000 for sexually harassing a tenant, according to documents posted at SiouxCityJournal.com. The landlord was also ordered to pay $11,090 by a judge due to emotional distress and damages.

A Sioux City woman, Bridget McClure, filed a complaint with the Sioux City Human Rights Commission against her landlord, Pavel Benedic, claiming he sexually harassed her by repeatedly asking her out and suggesting that she perform massages on him to cover her rent. When she refused his advances, he retaliated by not making repairs to her home as requested and later evicted her.

Among his many arguments in his defense, according to the legal documents, Benedic claimed he is gay and would not have an interest in women. The commission challenged Bendic’s claim that he is gay by bringing in female witnesses who claimed Benedic made advances upon them while allegedly wearing a robe with nothing underneath while outside his apartment and that he was frequently drunk. The female witnesses claimed that Benedic had entered their apartments while they were not home and that he suggested that they become strippers to pay their rent.

He sounds like a foreigner who doesn’t think he has to go by our laws.

Nice, Katie.

Katie sounds like a bigot who doesn’t think she has to speak fairly.

Look who’s talking.

Most American men aren’t stupid enough to think an American woman would fall for the kind of crap he suggested, unless she was a hooker or someone who was looking for a way to “work off her rent”. This man thinks women are so subservient to men, have such poor self esteem, that they will say yes to anything he suggests and they wouldn’t dare report him. Most American men aren’t that naive. This guy has some strange concepts of what women should be willing to do for men and I have a feeling he thought there would be nothing illegal about the trade.

Happens all the time. I am surprised you aren’t more informed about American ‘men’.
