July 10, 1951 – November 30, 2025

Michael Eugene Meyerhofer, 74, of Manly, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the Manly Specialty Care Center.

He was born on July 10, 1951, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Ambrose John Meyerhofer and Virginia Agnes (Schelich) Meyerhofer. Mike grew up in Mason City and was a graduate of Mason City High School.

On July 10, 2003, Mike was united in marriage to Kathryn “Kathy” Barnick in Mason City. From the moment they met, Mike and Kathy were inseparable, building a life grounded in companionship, loyalty and love.

Throughout his life he worked various manufacturing jobs, most recently with Conagra, where he retired in 2016.

Mike enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him joy and connection. He loved relaxing with family and enjoying a cold beverage. He also enjoyed playing cards, grilling and smoking meat, often turning an ordinary day into a gathering full of laughter and good food. Above all, Poppa Mike cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren, who brought light and pride into his life.

He is survived by his children: Brandon and Abby Jacobson of Bellevue, Nebraska, Ryan (Nickie Johnson) Jacobson of Albert Lea, Minnesota, and Amy (Jeff Heil) Jacobson of Owatonna, Minnesota. He was a proud grandfather to Brittany and Marcus Johnson, Dylan (Lilly Wilder), Jeremy, Caitlin, Jacob, Braeden, Kori, Christian, Gabriel, Rylee, Theodore, and Eleanor. Mike is also survived by his siblings Jack Meyerhofer of New Hampton and Mary and Tim Pate of Manly.

Michael is preceded in death by his wife Kathy; his parents; sister-in-laws, Kathy and Sally; and brother, Ed Meyerhofer.
