Clear Lake Police Chief Mike Colby
Chief Michael Colby stated “This case is a great example of how our department works in collaboration with our community members to solve and prevent crime. These relationships helped us solve this rash of criminal behavior by relying on good relationships with community members who told us what they saw, using technology to aid officers during the investigation, and good old fashion police work locating and arresting someone who had victimized many in our great town. I also want to take a moment to remind everyone to please lock your vehicles at night and not to leave valuables in your vehicles, you just never know who may wonder into your neighborhood looking for a crime of opportunity.”

Tchizige (pictured at top) is held on $5,000 cash-only bond as he awaits a court appearance. He is also awaiting a non-jury trial on March 30, 2025, for a drug-related offense and traffic tickets brought by the Iowa State Patrol back in August.
