WEST UNION, IOWA – A semi trailer was a total loss after it burst into flames on a Northern Iowa roadway.
On August 6, 2025 at approximately 4:25 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a semi trailer on fire at the intersection of Highway 18 and Golden Road. Terry Scott Mork of West Union was operating a 2016 Freightliner semi-truck and pulling a 2021 Eby semi-trailer when the rear trailer brakes overheated a caught fire.
The West Union Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. No one was injured and the trailer is considered a total loss.
The West Union Fire Department, the West Union Police Department, and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office all assisted at the scene.
