CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman is in deep after she took her Chevy Trailblazer for a spin while under the influence.

Monday evening, August 26, 2024, at about 6:09 PM, officers with the Charles City police department went to the area of Freeman Street and 8th Street for a report of an accident. Officers arrived and located a single vehicle accident. A black 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer drivn by 50-year-old Jolene Goodwill (pictured at top) of Charles City was moving southbound on Freeman Street and out of control before hitting the curb near the intersection at 8th Street.

After an investigation, Goodwill was determined to be intoxicated. She was arrested for third-offense operating while intoxicated (a felony), no valid driver’s license and failure to maintain control.

There were no injuries, but damage to her vehicle was estimated to be $2,000.
